01Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information Shawn Council Law Firm℠ LLC ("the Firm," "we," "us") collects through georgiaattorneynearme.com (the "Website"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
We collect only the information needed to respond to you, schedule consultations, and send the updates you ask for. We do not sell your personal information.
02Information We Collect
We only collect personal information that you choose to give us through the following features:
- Book Consultation form: your name, email address, phone number, the practice area you select, your preferred appointment date and time, and any description of your legal matter you choose to include.
- Contact form: your name, email address, an optional phone number, the topic you choose, and your message.
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address and the date you subscribed.
- Phone calls and correspondence: anything you share when you call our office at (678) 466-6910 or write to us.
Features that do not collect your information: the "Value My Case" calculator runs entirely in your browser. The figures you enter are not sent to us or stored. The chat button only shows our contact options. It does not record messages.
03Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, the servers that host the Website may automatically record standard technical information when you visit. This can include your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request, and the date and time of each request. This information is used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Website.
To prevent spam, the consultation and contact forms run a short automated check in your browser before sending your request. This check does not identify you personally or track you across other websites.
05How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your consultation request and confirm, reschedule, or follow up on your appointment.
- To check for conflicts of interest before we discuss a matter with you.
- To send the legal news, case analyses, and firm updates you subscribed to.
- To keep the Website secure, prevent spam and abuse, and fix technical problems.
- To comply with our legal and professional obligations.
06How Information Is Stored & Shared
Consultation requests and contact messages are sent to the Firm's office by email. They are not saved in the Website's database. Newsletter email addresses are stored in the Website's database, which is hosted by our website hosting provider.
We share personal information only in these limited situations:
- With service providers that host the Website and deliver email for us. They may use the information only to provide those services.
- When required by law, court order, or the Rules of Professional Conduct that govern Georgia attorneys.
- To protect the rights, safety, or property of the Firm, our clients, or others.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone for marketing purposes.
07Confidentiality & Attorney-Client Relationship
We treat information about a potential legal matter with care. However, submitting a form, subscribing to our newsletter, or otherwise contacting us through the Website does not create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship begins only after the Firm agrees to represent you, usually through a written engagement agreement.
Until then, please do not send confidential or time-sensitive details about your matter through the Website. Email is not a fully secure form of communication. If your matter is urgent, call our office directly.
08Data Retention & Security
We keep newsletter subscriptions until you ask to unsubscribe. We keep consultation correspondence for as long as needed to respond to you, check for conflicts, and meet our professional record-keeping duties.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
09Your Choices & Rights
You may contact us at any time to:
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter.
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete your information, unless we must keep it for legal or professional reasons.

The Website links to outside sites, including our Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and YouTube pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. Please review their policies before sharing information with them.
